Workplaces contain potential hazards, it is therefore the legal duty of every employer to ensure that you are kept safe from harm. If your employers fail to follow health and safety rules and injury or illness arises, you have a right to be compensated for this. There are many causes for claims like this, but the most common of these include:
- Injuries caused by lack of safety guards or exposure to dangerous substances.
- Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), white finger and lifting injuries.
- Asbestosis, Silicosis and Phossy jaw.
There are many other causes of claims for industrial injuries however, most of which arise out of negligence on the employer’s part, either in protecting you or in making sure that you were trained to avoid hazards.
